His body of work includes founding Edge Health Solutions where he developed the first Certified Electronic Health Record for Mac and designed EdgeDMS, the first touch based charting solution for iPad. His work in mobile applications and e-commerce platforms as well as launching AIR, the world’s first social media keyboard for iPhone, solidly places him into a position to lead the new era of mobile design and integration. B.C. Institute of Technology Marketing grad, Colin has lead innovative marketing teams in telecom, online marketplaces, gaming, video, and mobile sectors for 20+ years. At TELUS he marketed high speed Internet, created the first entertainment web portal in Western Canada called myBC.com, and held senior roles in channel marketing and communications. He lead an army of web marketing and SEO specialists in the online gaming space, helped transform the Yellow Pages/Canpages business into a leading digital agency in Canada, and held VP-Marketing role at video marketing and production agency. Colin is Co-Founder and CMO at eBrake.
Eric has assisted over 40 early-stage technology companies in the Vancouver area since 1994. His clients include venture capital / Angel backed private companies and junior public companies. Eric has successfully steered two clients through the IPO process, including Vancouver-based tech company Absolute Software's IPO that raised $22 million. He holds an MBA from Queen’s University, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. Eric is responsible for eBrake’s financial strategy/management including financings, forecasts, internal controls, and audits.
Pete has over 25 years of experience in the wireless industry holding a variety of leadership positions in Account Management, Product Management, Business Development and Finance with companies such as Motorola, Nokia, ZTE and AT&T/Lucent. He has brought numerous devices to market through Tier 1 Wireless Carriers various distribution channels, managing roadmap sell-in and engineering efforts. He is also an ICF Certified Professional Coach, and has enjoyed utilizing his authentic and energetic style in helping successful people achieve their highest potential. Peter received his undergrad degree from Boston College and holds an MBA in finance from Seton Hall University.
Alberto has over 25 years of experience leading both startups and Fortune 500 companies. As an angel investor and advisor to technology startups, Alberto has deep experience in mobile, cloud and digital platforms; and as Motorola’s Worldwide Director of Music and Entertainment, he led the company’s global entertainment content and applications business. Alberto was co-Founder of Tribal Technologies, a Silicon Valley digital/content marketing start-up. A native of Italy and raised in Argentina, Alberto started his career as a strategist at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in Buenos Aires, and subsequently worked for a number of multinationals. He holds a BS in Economics from Universidad Católica Argentina and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business.
Michael has over 30 years of sales and marketing experience in the consumer electronics and telco industries. Most recently, as SVP, at Maroo, he was responsible for worldwide sales and marketing of iPhone cases, Samsung Galaxy covers and cases, Microsoft Surface covers and sleeves and other lines. Previously, he led domestic and international sales teams for industry and category leaders Labtec, GN Netcom, Jabra, Body Glove and Etymotic Research, Inc. Michael has spent his career leading sales teams in soft goods such as phone cases, tablet cases and laptop cases, as well as hardware accessories including earphones, headphones, PC speakers and PC headsets. Specializing in retail, online and distribution into the Apple, Microsoft, CE and mobile channels as well as OEM sales to PC and mobile manufacturers.
Masahiro is an expert of international business development and retail sales & merchandising with 30 years of experience in global technology companies. He has excellent English-Japanese communication skills and enables to grow sales in Japan while maintaining global brand consistency. Most recently he lead retail merchandising team for Japan in Apple for 13 years and managed new product launches, mobile carriers, promotional programs and third party accessories. Before Apple, he was a buyer & project manager of brand-new products including very 1st DVD player, plasma monitor and ultra-thin notebook PC at Thomson Consumer and Gateway Computer.
Roy is the former Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer at TELUS, one of Canada’s largest telecommunications companies with more than 8.5 million wireless subscribers and $12 billion in annual revenues. Over his 30-plus year career he successfully built and led many businesses ranging from start-ups to intensively competitive Internet enterprises to mature regulated monopolies. These days, he spends his time as an author "BE DiFFERENT or be dead", and executive mentor for businesses of all sizes. Roy is eBrake's Executive and Marketing Advisor.
Colin is a retired Executive Officer at Intact Financial Corporation, former Chief Underwriter at ICBC, and boasts over 42 years experience in the insurance business. As the Founder of Canadian Direct Insurance, he built one of Western Canada's most successful insurance companies, recognized for three consecutive years by J.D. Power as the leader in customer service. More recently, Colin sits on the BC Hall of Fame Board of Trustees, is actively involved in the Rugby community. Colin is a Senior Advisor at eBrake, responsible for brokering and nurturing commercial deals with Insurance companies across North America.
Alan Albert has led the creation of multiple top-selling and award-winning products, generating over $1 billion in revenue. He has co-founded three software companies, selling one to Apple. Alan now leads MarketFit, providing strategic services and customer insight to growing B2B and B2C product and services companies across a wide range of markets. Alan Albert brings over 30 years of managerial, advisory, and hands-on success in bringing innovative products to market, in startups, mid-sze and Fortune 500 companies. Ben holds an Economics Degree and an MBA, both from Stanford University, and has been involved with online media and software since 1999. He is currently VP of Strategic Business Development at BroadbandTV. Previously he served as CEO at Strutta, a leading SaaS social media marketing platform. Ben has also held positions at Yahoo! in business development, sales, and operations. He is a business development and sales advisor to eBrake.
